INTERVIEW: Piet Boon Discusses 101 Wall, October 15, 2015

With plenty of finesse and the help of ample natural light, famous Dutch designer Piet Boon has effectively begun his transformation of the former Art Deco office building at 101 Wall into what will soon be some of the most modern condos on Wall Street. Boon recently sat down with David Graver of to discuss his process and offer insights into the Financial District’s newest luxury residential tower. “Everything [about the design] is functional but simple,” he said. “It will all last a very long time – from the textured tiles from Italy in the bathroom to the high baseboard to the floors.” Boon’s thoughtful interior design preserves some of the building’s authentic historic charm while creating efficient living spaces crafted with the modern Manhattanite in mind. “When you enter a room,” he said, “it should be one fluid thought.” Read More
